In the Washington D.C. Office, Internships Opportunities are available throughout the year (Summer, Fall, Winter). We are not offering internship in our L.A. Office at this time.

This is highly competitive program designed for students/recent graduates to gain real work experience, working in non-profit organization and build a network within their field of interest. During internship, the interns will be responsible for various aspect of the Foundation’s work including research, event planning, office management, social media management, etc. In addition, all interns are required to produce a 5-page paper on a topic of their interest related to Korea at the end of the program. For our interns, we strongly recommend that they request for college credits for this internship.


Application Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Current or recent undergraduate (Sophmore/Junior/Senior) or graduate students
  • Professional Proficiency in Korean/English
  • Excellent research and in clerical skills
  • Possess strong interest in Korean related affairs including international affairs, politics, and/or culture


Work Requirement:

  • Period: 4 months (varied depending on the internship)
  • Hours: Available 15 – 20 hours per week (hours are flexible and can be negotiated)
  • The internship is non-paid; however, there will be small stipend to cover for transportation expense


Work Duties:

  • Manage Social Networking System which includes Korea Foundation Washington D.C. Website, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Research and collect data relevant to the topic of interest and assist office management
  • Participate in event planning
  • Attend seminars and forums in various NGOS and think tanks related to the topic of Korea
